That was our daily hike.
Leisurely start after a hearty breakfast still put us at the trail head way before an early start from the coast –
We did this last fall sometime. We brought ropes and top-roped some routes on the cliff. Today was just a hike to a view – and the view did not disappoint.
The forest you hike through on the lower slopes is amazing with HUGE old growth hardwoods along a steep river gorge. Sweet.
UPDATE: We figure that big tree? Yellow birch. It was already well on it’s way to what you see today before the Declaration of Independence was signed. Cool.
