We have done this one a couple of times. Only once all the way up to the other side of Haystack – Not going to happen with Murphy today though – Higher up things were much more frozen and consolidated – A fall on the upper sections would be serious for man or beast. We had crampons on but – our adventure bear was at times at the limit of his four paw drive.
The sun was out, blue sky most of the day and temperatures in the low thirty’s – a little less higher up – made for a great walk off the beaten path.
