Good Morning Mittendom
Nice view from my kitchen this morning –
There was / is plenty of snow to shovel on the deck – I got a ruler and measured 16.5 inches –
COLD and fluffy – Seven below while shoveling this morning …
After a cup of coffee it was time to pick up a shovel..
This is turning out to be a great old fashioned winter.
Starting to worry where the plow will put the snow from the next storms !
Won’t be long at this rate before there is no place to park the car!

Back on the Mitten –
We arrived to find somewhere north of 18″ of fresh fluffy powder snow – The wind had blown in the path to the door –
Here we see Jake, brave snow dog – breaking path to get in…
We had to shovel out to get in –
And not a single complaint was heard.
Sunday’s
Seems like we just got here, then it is time to leave.
Slept solid on well worn heart and leg muscles from yesterday.
Not the best weather moving in – some rain, then snow – another 4-8 inches supposedly.

Back Country Snow Shoe
Good trip up to wonderland land on snow shoes.
The weather was warm.
This was the first real test of the MSR snow shoes. The frame, grip, and binding were regarded as first rate. Good stuff on the steep terrain.

Nice light steady snow today.
It was a bummer to loose what we had with the Christmas ice storm, but enough held on to coat rocks and make a good base.
I could do with a week of todays weather..

What can you do,
We have food, water, booze, puppies,
Heading for Christmas
This is usually the time of the week where we start nervously looking at the forecast –
I am hopeful that there is enough of the fluffy stuff already on the ground to absorb what may come friday and saturday –
Regardless – We will once more be on a mission of adventure !
